Sizing & Buying
How do I choose the right Odinson inverter size for my home?
Share your monthly electricity bill and a list of appliances you want to run on solar (ACs, fridge, lights, pump, etc.). An Odinson engineer converts that load into the right model — typically 3.6kW for a small home, 5–6kW for a 2–3 BHK, and 8–12kW for larger homes or shops. This sizing service is completely free.
What size inverter runs a 1.5 ton air conditioner?
A 1.5 ton AC draws a high starting surge. We recommend a minimum 5kW 48V Odinson inverter for one AC plus basic home load, or a 6kW–8kW model if you want to run an AC, fridge and lights together comfortably without tripping.
Can I start small and add more panels later?
Yes. Odinson hybrid inverters have a wide MPPT voltage range, so you can begin with fewer panels and add more within the inverter's rated capacity later. Pick the inverter for your future load, not just today's, to avoid an early upgrade.
What is the difference between 24V and 48V models?
The 3.6kW model is 24V (smaller battery bank, lower cost, ideal for compact homes). All 5kW and above are 48V (higher efficiency, handles heavier loads and surge better, preferred for ACs and pumps). Our engineers confirm the right voltage when sizing your system.
Do you sell complete solar systems or just inverters?
Odinson's core product is the hybrid solar inverter. Through our dealer network we also help with compatible solar panels and battery banks so you get a matched, warranty-backed system. Tell us your site and budget and we'll assemble the right kit.
How do I get a price quote?
Call or WhatsApp +91 99267 01304 with your location and load. We route you to the nearest authorised Odinson dealer for an itemised quote including inverter, panels, battery and installation. No obligation, no pushy sales.
Product & Technology
What is a hybrid solar inverter?
A hybrid inverter manages solar panels, batteries and the grid in one unit. It charges the battery from solar first, runs your home on solar/battery to cut your bill, and uses the grid only as backup — so you save maximum money and still have power during outages. Odinson makes pure sine wave hybrid inverters from 3.6kW to 12kW.
Are Odinson inverters pure sine wave?
Yes. Every Odinson model delivers pure sine wave output, which is safe for sensitive appliances — TVs, laptops, refrigerators, ACs and pumps — unlike cheaper modified sine wave inverters that can damage electronics.
What does MPPT mean and why does it matter?
MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) pulls the maximum possible power from your solar panels in all light conditions. Odinson inverters use a wide MPPT voltage range, so they harvest more energy on cloudy days and across the full day than basic PWM charge controllers.
Is the output single-phase or three-phase?
Odinson hybrid inverters are single-phase, matching the supply in most Indian homes, shops and small commercial sites. For three-phase commercial sites, please call us — we'll advise on the correct configuration or combination of units.
Are Odinson products BIS approved?
Yes. Odinson hybrid solar inverters are BIS approved and assembled in India, meeting Indian electrical safety and quality standards for residential and commercial use.
Which models are available in the Odinson range?
Six models: 3.6kW 24V, 5kW 48V, 6kW 48V, 8kW 48V, 10kW and 12kW — covering small homes to commercial installations. All are hybrid, pure sine wave, and lithium/lead-acid compatible.
Batteries & Backup
Can I use lithium batteries with Odinson inverters?
Yes. Odinson inverters are lithium and lead-acid compatible. Lithium batteries last longer, charge faster, need no maintenance and give deeper discharge — ideal if you want a modern, low-hassle system. Our engineers help you choose based on budget and backup needs.
How many batteries do I need?
It depends on the inverter voltage and your backup requirement. A 24V inverter needs a 24V battery bank; 48V models need a 48V bank. Our sizing team calculates the exact bank size (Ah) based on how many hours of backup you want during a power cut.
How long will the battery last during a power cut?
Backup time depends on your load and battery capacity. As a guide, a correctly sized bank on a 5kW system can run lights, fans, TV and fridge for several hours, or an AC for 1–2 hours. Share your appliances and we'll give an exact runtime estimate.
Will the inverter work without batteries?
Hybrid inverters generally need a battery bank to buffer surge and provide backup during outages. For a grid-tied-only (no-battery) setup, please call us — suitability depends on your site and local DISCOM rules.
Does solar charge the battery when the grid is off?
Yes. That is a key advantage of a hybrid inverter — during a daytime outage, solar keeps charging the battery and powering your home, so you stay on even when the grid is down.
Installation & Setup
Do you provide installation?
Installation is handled by our authorised Odinson dealer network. When you buy, the nearest dealer coordinates a trained installer for safe, warranty-compliant setup of the inverter, panels and battery bank. We do not recommend self-installation of high-voltage solar equipment.
How much roof space do I need?
A typical 1kW of panels needs roughly 8–10 sq.ft. of shadow-free roof. So a 5kW system needs about 40–50 sq.ft. of good south-facing roof. A site visit or your photos help us confirm exact capacity and tilt.
Which direction should panels face?
In India, south-facing panels give the highest total generation. East- or west-facing roofs also work well with slightly lower output. Our installer checks shade, tilt and orientation during the site survey.
How long does installation take?
A standard residential hybrid system is typically installed in 1–2 days once the inverter, panels and batteries reach your site. Commercial systems may take longer depending on size and mounting complexity.
Do I need permission from my electricity board?
For an off-grid or battery-backup hybrid system, usually no net-metering permission is needed. If you want to export surplus power to the grid (net-metering), your local DISCOM's approval is required — your dealer guides you through the paperwork.
Warranty & Service
What is the warranty on Odinson inverters?
Every Odinson hybrid solar inverter carries a 3-year warranty covering manufacturing defects. Keep your invoice and warranty card safe — you'll need the model and serial for any claim.
How do I claim warranty or raise a service request?
Call +91 99267 01304 or email info@odinsonsolar.in with your invoice number, model and a short description of the issue. Our team arranges inspection, repair or replacement through the nearest dealer — usually resolved within a few working days.
Is the warranty transferable if I move house?
The warranty stays with the unit. If you relocate the inverter, keep the original invoice and warranty card; service is available through any Odinson dealer at your new location across India.
What is not covered by warranty?
The warranty covers manufacturing defects, not damage from incorrect installation, lightning without proper earthing, physical mishandling, or unauthorised repair/alteration. Always use an authorised Odinson installer to keep coverage intact.
Do you offer service outside Madhya Pradesh?
Yes. Odinson supports customers and dealers across 25+ states. Service and warranty claims are coordinated centrally from Bhopal and executed through the nearest dealer, so your location is rarely a problem.
